dimensional thread painting
Full Day Workshop: Saturday, May 8, 2021, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Want to learn Dimensional Thread Painting but think it is too hard? In this class you will start with a beautiful “Pink Zinnia and Swallowtail” Panel to create a piece of art! You will learn the proper steps of Dimensional Thread Painting and find it to be a fun and creative technique. Explore the various thread selections, setting up your machine for stitching techniques with free motion quilting of zigzag and straight stitching. See the fabric come to life as you sew and layer the threads on top of your design. You will use thread as paint, sewing with different types of threads and color combinations.
Techniques Taught: Dimensional Thread Painting, Crystal Embellishment, Blocking and Squaring a Quilt, and more!
Cost: The workshop is $45 plus the $15 cost of the panel, or $60 total. The panel is required for the class. Using the same panel for all students allows Joyce to teach specific techniques in the most effective manner.
Optional: An optional 23 embellishment thread package is available for $40 and it includes Mettler silk finish cotton, poly sheen, and metallic in colors specific to this panel (see above), and specific thread for bobbins. You do not have to purchase the thread kit – it is optional. Many people have loads of different types of thread in their arsenal already. In addition, Joyce is offering a 20% discount on her books purchased in advance via the Guild’s order for kits and books, making the price $20 per book.
To sign up, please email Gail Palazzolo at firstname.lastname@example.org. Email is checked daily and we will get back to you right away with a supply list. Carol Ann Robertson and I will make arrangements to get the panels to everyone, and thread kits, books, etc. if purchased.
