General Meeting – Pam Weeks

Pam Weeks will present a lecture, Designing Women –Twentieth Century Quilt Entrepreneurs. Power Point presentation with a few quilts that features the history of the quilt pattern and design industry and some of its leading figures, such as Ruby McKim and Marie Webster. Pam is the Binney Family Curator of the New England Quilt Museum, where she works with many different quilters, collectors, institutions, and co-conspirators to plan exhibits for the museum. Pam will also be lecturing at the Bristol Art Museum on February 6 and research the quilts in the museum’s collection.
Women Writers — Signature Quilts with Pam Weeks

Signature Quilts, also called “inscribed” and “friendship” quilts, have multiple names written on them and tell wonderful stories about love, war, migration, and community. This lecture includes a history of inscribed quilts, methods, and types.
Attendees are invited to bring one quilt for identification. Quilts are arranged in chronological order and used as examples in the lecture.
