Shirley Fisher will be presenting a trunk show on 4 October 2018, “33 years of quilting”.  On Saturday, 6 October 2018, Shirley will conduct a workshop, “perfecting your applique skills”, $35 for the cost of the workshop.  It will be held at St. Philomena’s School from 9:30-3:30.  Please contact Lori Bessette if you are interested in attending.

The leaves are beginning to turn, the temperature has dropped and the children are back in school.  Now is the time to pull out those long-neglected projects to finish up.  Set up a UFO project list, prioritizing your most urgent projects.  We have scheduled a UFO project workshop to assist you in the completion.  Carole Kenny will conduct the workshop on 3 November 2018 at St. Philomena’s School.  The cost is $30.  The workshop will be held from 9:30-12:30.  Please contact Lori Bessette is you’re interested in attending.

The November guild meeting will present non-quilting demonstrations by the members.  Demonstrations to include Chinese brushstroke, card making, embroidery and calligraphy to name a few.

The December guild meeting will be to host the Holiday party.  Appetizers and desserts will be shared along with wine.  Come and relax to background music and enjoy spending time with your quilting friends.

Looking ahead, if you haven’t submitted your survey for the Pam Week’s presentation, it’s not too late.  Please see Lori Bessette for the survey.  Pam, the curator from New England Quilt Museum, will be presenting a free lecture, made possible by the generous donations from the Quilters by the Sea members!  Thank you for your generous contributions!  The lecture will be held on 7 February 2019.

The Members Yard sale will take place on 7 March 2019.   Pull out those unused patterns, notions, fabrics and sell them at the event.  Leftover items can be donated for the baskets at the Quilt Show.  You can download the newsletter here QBS October Newsletter is Ready to Download..
