What an incredibly hot summer we’ve had this year. Hopefully, you’ve been able to get some sewing completed in an air-conditioned environment, if not, the fall is upon us and we can enjoy the cooler weather! Perhaps many of you were able to attend the quilt shows in the area. Many of our members had quilts displayed in the MQX quilt show.
We look forward to an exciting new year with the guild. We’re starting off with Connie Sue Haidle in September, presenting a Trunk Show on 6 September, following our business meeting and a workshop on 8 shop . The workshop will be for beginner and intermediate appliquer’s. The workshop is $50 and it is necessary to learn two knot techniques, prior to the workshop. Anyone interested in taking the workshop, please contact Lori Bessette.
In October, Shirley Fischer will present a Trunk Show, 30 years of quilting on 4 October. Shirley will be conducting a workshop on 6 October, perfecting your applique skills. This is a great opportunity to try something new. If you’ve never tried appliqueing, please give it a try. You’ll be surprised how enjoyable it is!
In November, the non-quilting demonstrations will be presented, to include: Chinese brush painting, card making, watercolors, embroidery and calligraphy. This is another opportunity to become familiar with a new talent!
Perhaps you’ve been inundated with workshops, perhaps you have a closet filled with unfinished projects, perhaps you want to clean up those projects. Well, how about a workshop to complete those unfinished projects? In November, depending on members interest, we’ll be scheduling a unfinished project workshop to help you finish those tasks. The completed projects can be used for Christmas presents, boutique items or silent auction items. You can download the newsletter here QBS September Newsletter
